An indemnity claim must be submitted to Seesam within one month of the end of the trip or as of the moment when the person claiming the indemnity learned or could have learned that he or she was entitled to the indemnity.

Accident and illness treatment expenses

  1. After an accident or in the case of an illness see a doctor quickly.
  2. Follow the doctor's instructions.
  3. If you pay for the medicinal products, doctor's visits, etc. yourself, keep all the documents certifying your expenses.
  4. Upon returning to Estonia send a travel insurance indemnity application and other required documents to Seesam within one month.

To have your medical treatment expenses indemnified, submit the following:


  1. a travel insurance indemnity application;
  2. a copy of the policy that was valid during the trip;
  3. a document certifying what happened (a doctor's certificate, which indicates the diagnosis, the first visit and the time of treatment);
  4. documents certifying the costs (original bills on treatment expenses, transportation and purchase of medicinal products).

Upon cancellation of a trip, submit the following:

  1. a travel insurance indemnity application;
  2. a copy of the policy that was valid during the trip;
  3. a document certifying what happened (in the event of falling ill, a doctor's certificate which indicates the diagnosis, the first visit and the time of treatment);
  4. a copy of the certificate for sick leave submitted to the Health Insurance Fund in order to apply for benefits (in case the insured person is a working individual);
  5. documents certifying the expenses (payment receipts, tickets, etc. If you do not have the original invoices, you can submit a bank account statement);
  6. a certificate of the travel company regarding the reservation, cancellation and expenses returned/not returned (fines).

Upon being late for a trip or interruption of a trip, submit the following:

  1. a travel insurance indemnity application;
  2. a copy of the policy that was valid during the trip;
  3. a document certifying the event (a certificate of the transportation company regarding the causes of cancellation of the trip or belatedness, a document certifying the reason of interruption of the trip);
  4. documents certifying the expenses (payment receipts, tickets, etc. If you do not have the original invoices, you can submit a bank account statement);
  5. the planned and actual travelling schedule made in free format (incl. the precise departure and arrival times, destinations);
  6. tickets of the planned and actual trip;
  7. a certificate of the travel company regarding the reservation, cancellation and expenses returned/not returned (fines).

Luggage losses

  1. Notify the local police of the robbery or theft of your luggage and ask for a certificate of the accident;
  2. If your luggage has broken or been damaged during transport, contact the transportation company or the guilty party and demand indemnity for the damage caused.
  3. The insurance covers the portion of the damage that is not indemnified by the transportation company.
  4. Ask the organiser of transport for a certificate of the damage caused to the luggage.

To have luggage losses indemnified, submit the following:

  1. a travel insurance indemnity application;
  2. a copy of the insurance policy that was valid during the trip;
  3. copies of the tickets;
  4. a document certifying the event (a certificate of the transportation company, a certificate of the police);
  5. a detailed letter of explanation made in free format regarding what happened (in the event that the luggage has been stolen);
  6. a detailed list of things lost or acquired and documents certifying your expenses (purchase receipts; if you do not have any original document, you can submit your bank account statement);
  7. a certificate of the transportation company regarding the indemnity paid.
